PS Store DB has no sign up. The only thing it asks for is a PSN name. It does use Google Analytics, and visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first. Until they choose "Accept", Google Analytics sets no cookies and sends no data there.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a short banner on your first visit asks whether Google Analytics may be used. Until you choose "Accept", it runs in a denied state: no cookies are set and no analytics data is sent. Accept and Reject are equal choices and the site works the same either way. Your choice is saved on your device for 6 months, and you can change it at any time from "Cookie preferences" in the footer. Everywhere else, Google Analytics runs without a banner.
Once accepted, GA4 collects standard usage data, including pages viewed, the approximate location from IP addresses, along with the device and browser type, and how you navigate the current website, and also shows which pages have been browsed. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
PS Store DB sets a few cookies of its own, each only for a feature you use, and none for tracking:
pf_ and pf_hub: the private key of a profile page you built, kept for 1 year.psdb_store: your home store, when you pick one from a link, kept for 6 months.psdb_v: a random number that lets the hype meter count 1 vote per browser, kept for about 13 months.
A few choices are saved in your browser's
localStorage so the site remembers them on your next visit: your theme, your home
store, the games and playlists in My lists, and your price alerts. They stay on your device and
are not stored anywhere else. To show current prices for My lists, the site is sent the game ids
alone, with nothing that identifies you, and does not keep them. Clearing your browser's site
data removes all of these choices.
A hype vote is saved with that random number and the country you visit from, and nothing else. When you follow a game, the site counts that follow without any visitor identifier, to show which games are followed most. The site also counts page not found answers and browser errors per hour, with no visitor identifier.
To build a profile, you enter a PSN name, tick a box to say it is your own, and choose a display name. The site reads the public PlayStation data for that PSN name once. The PSN name is not stored or logged. Refresh from PSN asks for the PSN name again and forgets it the same way.
The page saves the public data it was built from: the avatar picture link, PlayStation level and trophy counts, the list of games played with their hours, first and last played dates and trophy progress, platinums, earned badges, and the console last used with when the player was last online. It is saved under a random link, shows only the display name and is kept out of search engines. The total play time of each game is also added, without any name, to site wide counts used in articles.
If you find a page about you that you did not build, email [email protected] with its link and it will be removed.
Profile data is also used in aggregate in public articles on this site.
The browser that builds a page keeps a private key in a cookie. With it, that browser can rename the page, keep a backlog, see deals matched to the games on it and delete the page. The backlog, the monthly goal and the chosen store are stored with the page, under the same random link.
Your profile page will be deleted after 30 days in case you do not visit, or after 180 days if it has a backlog. Delete my page, under Page settings, removes the page, its backlog and its images at once. Backup copies of the site are replaced after a short time.
The site collects no email addresses as of now. Email addresses which were earlier left in the newsletter box have been deleted and never shared. Contact us anytime to have your address removed.
2 providers deliver the site. To do that and to block abuse, they see details of each connection: your IP address, your browser type and the time of the request.
PS Store DB uses Google Search Console to see totals for how the site appears in Google Search, such as impressions and clicks. It sets nothing in your browser and is separate from the analytics and advertising cookies above.
Game pages link to the official PlayStation Store, and share buttons link to X, Reddit, WhatsApp and Facebook. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Profile pages are built because you ask for one, and they use only public data from PlayStation. Usage measurement, abuse prevention and site wide counts rely on the site's legitimate interest in running and improving a free site. Google Analytics in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland runs only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from "Cookie preferences" in the footer.
The site's servers and its providers may be in a different country from yours. Data sent to them is protected in transit with encryption and handled under the providers' own policies listed above. Cloudflare and Google use the standard contractual clauses for transfers out of Europe.
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see the data held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. Since profile pages hold no name, the quickest way is to send the page link. The page owner can also delete a page at once from Page settings. Requests are answered within 1 month. You can also ask for a copy of your data, ask for its use to be limited, and withdraw consent for analytics at any time. In India, complaints can go to the Data Protection Board of India; elsewhere, to your local data protection authority.
PS Store DB is meant for people aged 13 or older and does not knowingly collect data from younger children. In India, a profile page may be built only by someone aged 18 or older. A page built for a child is removed on request.
If what the site collects changes, this page is updated before the change goes live.
PS Store DB is an independent site run by an individual based in India, under the name Maki, who handles privacy questions and complaints. Email [email protected].
